Unique Authoring Tool

When developing courseware content for custom and proprietary applications, most developers or development departments spend a considerable amount of time on formatting issues. Using CustomDOC Composer, a unique authoring tool from PTS Learning Systems, the concern about changing fonts, page layouts, graphics, and formats are problems of the past. Developers can now spend their time developing content, not on formatting issues. CustomDOC Composer accomplishes this by providing a structured methodology which lays out the format for the developer. This format, which is based on proven adult learning theory, is identical to PTS' award-winning courseware format.

To write a course, you first build a hierarchical outline. Since CustomDOC Composer provides a "fill in the blank" interface, developers concentrate on creating learning objects for each identified topic - including conceptual information, step-by-step procedures, warnings, notes and exercises. Developers can also fill in objectives, identify student data files, and indicate prerequisite topic priorities.

Builds CustomDOC Compatible Courseware

CustomDOC Composer works in conjunction with CustomDOC, PTS' industry leading courseware compiling tool. Content inputted into CustomDOC Composer is organized and formatted to the specifications required to be processed by CustomDOC. Once the training content is written, it can be exported into CustomDOC to create instructor-led training materials, reference materials, study guide materials and procedural materials.

Developers enter the content for each topic, including concept information, step-by-step procedures, examples, notes and warnings. As they enter the information, the content structure is stored in a database in industry-standard RTF format.
